About Me

About me

Before I dive into the nitty gritty of who I am and what I do, here is a list of what I love to do most (in somewhat particular order): create, form connections, laugh, learn, move my body, educate, problem solve, and be outside. I lead with these because they set the foundation for who I am and why I do what I do. As my career evolves, these loves remain constant.

Now for the nitty gritty: I am a Software Engineer who specializes in quality and also loves creating marketing content. And here is where I tell you the story of how these became my passions.

I have always loved coming up with app ideas, and wanting to build them myself led me to study computer science at Washington State University (Go Cougs!). Along the way, I fell in love with the problem-solving side of software development and knew I wanted to make a career out of it.

In true me fashion, everyone around me was becoming a software developer, so I wanted to do something different. I chose test engineering to learn a different side of engineering, and I spent over two years as a Software Test Engineer at Qualtrics. I became a product expert, asking the hard questions to find edge-case bugs and areas for improvement before the product reached customers.

Testing has never stopped me from building. Throughout my experience as a Software Test Engineer, I continued to do work in the software development space, whether it be developing customer-facing improvements to features, building tools, or working on personal side projects.

You may be wondering (as I often do myself): where in the world does marketing fit into all of this? It turns out the same core thought process drives both testing and marketing. Both require deeply understanding a product and business from the customer’s perspective, in ways the people building it don’t always get to see. On top of that, marketing taps into my creative side.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little better. I’d love to get to know you, too! If you’re in need of software testing, development, marketing content like websites and social media, a fresh set of eyes on your product, or something else entirely, let’s connect.
